Looks like we have internet chemistry in common. I too am working on teaching an online chemistry course this school year. I thought I would pop in and get to know someone else who love teaching online and chemistry.
We are currently working on an arthropod module. Last week we dissected a crayfish via webcam. The kids watch and then they perform the dissections at home or in their local co-op. Next week will be the phylum chordata module. We will have three days of online, live lectures (lectures are Voicethreaded for those that miss a lecture). Then the next week will be the perch and frog dissections.
It is a lot of fun teaching online. We have kids from all over the US. We also have Canadian and Brazilian students.
What types on online platforms are you wanting to learn more about this summer? We use Moodle for our 24/7 access components and we use Elluminate for our live classroom. I also use VoiceThread quite extensively. Let me know if you are curious about these. I will give you a tour of them.
